Privacy Policy

Overview

Glidespan is a native macOS client for Bluesky. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data Glidespan collects, how it's used, and how it's stored.

Data Collection

Glidespan does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data stays on your Mac.

What Glidespan Stores Locally

• Bluesky credentials: Your Bluesky App Password tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain (encrypted, hardware-protected). Your App Password is used only to authenticate with Bluesky's servers and is never transmitted to any other service.
• Account information: Your Bluesky handle, display name, and avatar URL are stored locally to display your account in the app.
• Column layout and preferences: Your column configuration, appearance settings, and app preferences are stored locally using SwiftData.
• Drafts: Unsent post drafts are stored locally on your device.
• Bookmarks: Your bookmarked posts are stored locally. Bookmarks are private — they are not shared with Bluesky or any other service.
• Scheduled posts: Posts scheduled for future publication are stored locally until published.

What Glidespan Does NOT Collect

• No analytics or telemetry
• No crash reporting to external services
• No advertising identifiers
• No usage tracking
• No data shared with third parties
• No cookies or web tracking

Third-Party Services

Glidespan communicates only with Bluesky's servers (via the AT Protocol) to provide its functionality:

• Fetching your timeline, notifications, and messages
• Publishing posts and performing social actions (likes, reposts, follows)
• Searching for posts and users
• Uploading media attachments

All communication with Bluesky uses HTTPS encryption.

Glidespan does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Subscriptions

Glidespan offers optional paid subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. Payment processing is handled by Apple. Glidespan does not collect or store any payment information.

Data Deletion

All Glidespan data is stored locally on your Mac. To delete all data:

• Sign out of your account(s) in Glidespan settings
• Delete the Glidespan app

This removes all local data including credentials, drafts, bookmarks, and preferences.

You can also remove individual accounts in Settings → Accounts → Remove, which deletes all data associated with that account (columns, drafts, bookmarks, scheduled posts).

Children's Privacy

Glidespan does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app requires a Bluesky account, which has its own age requirements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
